PLEASE NOTE: Our rats can be adopted ALL OVER ONTARIO! We have wonderful volunteers and can arrange rides to almost anywhere so don't let the location stop you from inquiring about some ratties!
Thank you for your interest and checking out our Ontario rat adoption centre/rescue! Our adoptable rodents have so much love to share and make the BEST companions! Rodents are super smart, social, and make very deep bonds with their people, the most "human-like" of any companion animal we've ever had.
If you've decided you want to adopt a small pet rat, please fill out the adoption application form below. The questions we ask are to determine the following so please be as honest and open as you can
We hope your connection with Frankie's World and your rat(s) will be a lasting one, and we are here to support you through the transition as well as ANY TIME in the future. We also LOVE getting updates on rats in their forever homes! SERIOUSLY, if you have any questions or issues at all, let us know!
We have done rat adoptions in Toronto Mississauga, Hamilton, Burlington, Ottawa, Kitchener and other cities in the GTA. We also have connections with other Ontario rat adoption centres and can link you up with amazing rat shelters in Ontario if our rats aren't suited to you for whatever reason.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, if for whatever reason you are no longer able to properly care for your rat(s), or you believe that your home is no longer a good fit for them, we ask that you PLEASE BRING YOUR RAT(S) BACK TO US! Please do not give away, sell, or re-home them on your own. There is absolutely no judgement, we understand that circumstances can change, and are happy to take them back into our care if need be, whether that be temporarily or permanently.
Tina and Sandy were both rescued feeders. Tina has been adopted and Sandy is still waiting for her people! She is 8 months old and can be a bit skittish but very sweet and never nippy. Sandy is becoming more friendly and easier to handle. She will need a patient home that will allow her to flourish into the friendly sweet girl we know she is!
These girls were rescued recently from a horrible case of neglect. They have been with us for a very short time and are still very shy and timid. They do love to cuddle one another hiding in their hammocks and hide toys and are slowly taking snacks from out hands. We know with the right time and attention they will be amazing companions but need someone who will be patient with them understanding they haven't had the best experience with people to date. They will take a bit of time to trust us to care for them but that just makes the cuddles (when they come, and they will) that much more special!
With this group of girls we also have Daisy who recently underwent surgery to remove a HUGE tumour. She is recovering well and will be available to adopt with these girls once she is cleared by our vet and ready to start her new life tumour free!
This female rat trio is up for adoption in the GTA. They're currently a bit shy with people but playful with each other. We know they will come out of their shells very quickly with their adoptive family.
These rats are currently in a temporary home in Parry Sound Ontario. They are 6 months old and are all used to being held. They are all pretty curious as most rats are! There are boys and girls. The boys are a bit more layed back especially Squidge. The girls are a bit more active and playful especially Yuzu. They are all looking for a great home with either new or experienced rat parents.
We recently participated in a large scale rescue of rats from a hoarding situation. Someone contacted the rescue looking to surrender rats after neglecting them for months leading to multiple litters of rats. They are all safe now with the pregnant moms being cared for at multiple rescues across Ontario, including us. These babies (and their moms who are babies themselves!) They are now all weaned, very easy to handle and ready to start their new lived with amazing families!
The moms of these girls are all Siamese, Pew or Himalayan and dad was likely the same so we are predicting they will all grow up like that as well :)
If you or anyone you know is looking to adopt rats as a first time rat parent, or looking to add some young rats to your mischief, these babies would be a great fit. Fill out an application now so we can get them to you as soon as they're ready to leave the nest.
